St. Pete Beach Reef

Located in 35 feet of water, about 5 miles from the Pass-A-Grille Channel Entry Marker #2, this reef is made up of large concrete bridge sections, a 200 foot steel barge and 10 old Army tanks and vehicles. The site is marked with yellow buoys and is a great novice dive site. This site offers some nice opportunities for underwater photography of the tanks and barge. A large variety of marine life makes the site their home. The reef began with the concrete bridge sections from the Old Corey Causeway and the Skyway Bridge in 1976. The steel barge was added in 1984 and in 1995 the old Army tanks and vehicles were added.
