Soule Barge

Located in 82 feet of water, 10 miles S of Pensacola Pass within artificial reef site #15, this barge was configured with seven groups of open-work steel towers welded to the deck to form a more useful 140 foot artificial reef. The barge flipped while sinking and rests on top of the steel towers. Although not situated as intended, the site provides a home for a variety of marine life including large Grouper, Amberjack, Snapper and Flounder. This is a nice site for underwater photography with the open-work beams in the background.
