Grey Ghost

Located in 108 feet of water about 20 miles from the St. Andrews jetties, this 105 foot old Navy tug has its steel hull and superstructure fairly intact. Popular with sport fishermen, there is a lot of monofilament tangled on the wreck. This is an all-day dive site due to distance from the jetties. Also, due to depth, this is an advanced dive site. Sunk in 1978 on the edge of a natural reef system – lots of marine life make their home among the wreck and the reef. This is a great underwater photography site – especially with the tug’s wheelhouse as a background. The wreck is lying on its port side and the engine is next to the hull. Be sure to have a knife with you for the monofilament line. Nice visibility for this advanced dive site.
