Jose Cuervo
Located in the South Beach Artificial Reef site, about 150 yards southeast from the Second Street lifeguard station, this shallow, 10,000 pound concrete margarita bar was sunk May 5, 2000 as part of the “Cinco (Sinko) De Mayo” celebration. It is intended to be the first stop on the South Beach Underwater Trail. A wreck forms the “bar”. Built for Jose Cuervo and donated by them to the Artificial Reef program, a newly formed South Beach water sports committee went on to continue to raise funds for more wrecks to be sunk in an effort to promote diving in the Miami waters. Piles of concrete form a ring and attract lots of tropical fish. Nice novice dive site or for snorkeling.
Notes: Artificial Reef, Good Snorkeling
