Emerald Reef

Located in 15-20 feet of water 1 mile east of Key Biscayne, this shallow patch reef is excellent for novice divers and snorkelers. This is a great site for underwater photography with its coral and tropical fish. This shallow reef is one of the most beautiful reefs in the Miami area – it is also one of the largest natural reefs in the Miami area. More along the line of what you would expect in the lower Keys – the Elkhorn and Pillar corals, many varieties of sponges and fans as well as abundant tropical fish combined with great light and visibility makes this site a mecca for those who really enjoy underwater photography.

Notes: Good Snorkeling
