Biscayne Freighter

Located in 55 feet of water about 4.5 miles east of Key Biscayne, this 120 foot ship provides a great habitat for marine life – the wreck itself is easily penetrated and it is a terrific spot for underwater photography and night dives. Sometimes called the Banana Freighter because it was used to transport bananas from the Caribbean to Central America it was accidentally sunk in shallow water while being towed. This wreck is fairly easy for any level of diver and makes a great night diving site for beginners as well as advanced divers.
