HMS Looe

Located 10 miles southwest of Bahia Honda Channel in 5-70 feet of water. The deeper portions of the dive can encounter stronger currents. This is still a nice dive for the novice diver. This site is a SPA site. In 1744 the HMS Looe ran aground and sank on what is now called Looe Key Reef. The ship burned (maybe intentionally by her Captain) and sank. Not much is seen today of the wrecks in the area but some ballast stones and some copper plating possibly from the hull. One great photo opportunity is an old anchor that has become part of a coral finger. Nice novice dive site.
