Delta Shoals

Located 1.5 miles east-northeast of Sombrero Lighthouse in 10-35 feet of water are several wrecks and a nice grouping of elkhorn, brain coral and star corals. This is a SPA site – no fishing or lobstering. Novice site also nice for snorkeling. One of the most well known wrecks on the Shoals is called the Ivory Wreck. It got its name from the ivory tusks that were part of the remnants found on board originally. Lots of marine life in the area including nurse sharks can be seen. Relics can be found but the wrecks themselves are not visible.
