Nine Foot Stake

Located 1 mile west of #1 marker and 4 miles south of Key West, marked by a 9 foot tall piling (which gave it the name) and with depths of 15-30 feet. This a great novice dive site as well as a great night dive site. It offers great photo opportunities. 2 mooring buoys are available. Because of the Navy’s testing on the site, sometimes artifacts are found. The shallow water and marine life make for interesting novice dives and night dives. Lots of large brain corals, juvenile sea life and the nocturnal hunters like hermit crabs, brittle stars and anemones make this an interesting site for viewing as well as photography. Nice novice dive site.

Notes: Mooring Buoys, Good Snorkeling
