Freighter Anna Artificial Reef

Off the Jacksonville coast in 110 feet of water, the 225 foot freighter was sunk in 1986 to form an artificial reef. Depth here does not make this a suitable novice dive site. In 1981 this 225 foot freighter was confiscated for drug smuggling off the coast of Florida. She was purchased by the Jacksonville Offshore Sportfishing Club and Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament Committee to be used to form an artificial reef. She was scuttled and lies on her side in 110 feet of water.
