Acosta Bridge Rubble

Located 12.25 nautical miles from the Mayport Jetties in 75 feet of water, this site is also referred to as Busey’s Bonanza. Composed of the concrete rubble of the Acosta Bridge as well as a stack of pipes from a dry dock, two barges and a culvert make this an interesting dive spot for all divers. The Acosta Bridge once crossed the St. John’s River. In 1992 the rubble of the bridge as well as 2 barges, a culvert and the pipes left from a large wooden dry dock were dumped to help form an artificial reef.
