Rodeo 25
This wreck lies 1.5 mile due east of the Pompano Pier in 122 feet of water. Both masts and the wheelhouse are intact. The deck lies at 105 feet. Access to the engine room is there and is a great wreck to practice your wreck diving skills on. This wreck, the Windward Trader, gets its name because it was sunk in May 1990 during the 25th anniversary of the Pompano Beach Rodeo. It is a 215 foot, double masted freighter. The wreck is set up correctly to allow penetration to the interior. Marine life is abundant and bull sharks have been seen to visit the area as well. Be sure to anchor securely in this area. Due to depth it is not a novice dive site.
