Jay Scutti Tug Artifical Reef Site
Sitting in 70 feet of water, this site has several vessels grouped to make the artificial reef. The namesake, Jay Scutti, is a harbor tugboat. This collection of vessels forms an artificial reef that offers a healthy habitat for marine life. Dale Scutti purchased a harbor tugboat and named it in honor of his son. The tug then became the centerpiece of a collection of several vessels used to form this large artificial reef. Included in this collection are the 45 foot vessel, Moonshot, and the 95 foot sailboat, Pride, a 40 foot yacht, B.H. Lake, and a 132 foot oil rig, M/V Tracey as well as a 90 foot freighter and a pile of limestone boulders known as “Dog Pile” is a bit further north. Jay Scutti’s mast begins at a depth of only 45 feet and the seabed lies at about 70 feet. This is a nice site for all but the most inexperienced divers.
