Houseboat
Sitting in 90 feet of water, this 70 foot wreck, Old Houseboat, is part of a group of vessels forming an artificial reef. Marine life and colorful formations make this a nice photographers site, but occasional strong currents and low visibility can at times make for dangerous dive conditions. Originally named Duzaway, “Old Houseboat” was sunk in 1987. She sits about 200 yards from another site consisting of a triangle of 3 unmanned boats also sunk to help form an artificial reef. Colorful soft corals and schools of baitfish live among the wrecks as do schools of large barracuda. This makes a nice spot for underwater photography. Caution is needed when strong currents and resulting low visibility are present.
