Barracuda Reef
In 35 feet of water, there is easy access with 29 mooring buoys available. It is only ½ mile from John U. Lloyd State Recreational area. It has a very nice reef ledge and plentiful marine life. This was the first site to have permanent mooring buoys installed in Broward County. It is great for fish watching and has coral formations usually only found in the Florida Keys. Staghorn, star and brain coral offer great photo opportunities as do the fish, lobsters, crabs and moray eels that hide under the 10-15 foot ledge and in crevices around it. Since it is such a popular spot be cautious of boat traffic at all times.
